 * Hi,
 * I wanted to install Modern Events Calendar Lite, I installed it through WordPress,
no problem. Then when I wanted to activate it I got the following error:
 * The plugin could not be activated due to a fatal error it is causing:
 * Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘?’ in …/wp-content/plugins/modern-events-
   calendar-lite/app/libraries/main.php on line 6342
 * I am still on PHP 5.6, but as there was no warning when installing it I thought
that it should be okay. With some plugins or theme I get the message, that they
are not compatible with my php version.
I wanted to install it to evaluate buying
a pro licence. Sadly I can not update my php version atm. Please help.

 * I have the same exact error, same file and same line.
    And I’m also running PHP
   5.6.40.
 * The problem happened when the plugin updated to 5.16.6, the 28th of January.
 * Can someone confirm that PHP version is the source of the problem?

 * I can confirm that PHP was the problem, updated to 7,4 and all works fine now.

 * Thank you for your rapid response. But regrettably I get the same error for another
   file now:
 * Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘?’ in …/wp-content/plugins/modern-events-
   calendar-lite/app/features/occurrences.php on line 361
 * And I can’t even delete the plugin now.
