• We just received an email from one of our readers that the “unsubscribe” link in the email returns an error.

I checked it on my end, and indeed, the link returns a fatal error. Looks like some incompatibility with one of the components of Rank Math SEO.

    I’m attaching a screenshot.

    Hi @lucasw89

    Sorry for the wait.

Can you try creating a real page for the comments subscription management instead of the default fake/virtual page?

    • Go to WP Admin > StCR > Management Page
    • Set “Virtual management page” to “No” and save changes
    • Go to WP admin > Pages > Add New and create a page called Comment subscriptions, the permalink should be comment-subscriptions
    • For the content of the page add [stcr_management_page]

Hey! Thanks for getting back to me.

I also contacted another plugin, which was mentioned in the error. They apparently made some adjustments to the code, and it works fine now.

I’m curious however if there are any advantages of using a ‘real’ page for managing comments as opposed to the ‘virtual’ one. I didn’t even know about this functionality until now.

    Hi @lucasw89

No special advantages. The only thing is that the virtual page can sometimes conflict with other plugins since we’re tricking WordPress into thinking there’s a real page at that URL. But the conflicts are rare.
