I had the Give Plugin working great on my test site and was looking forward to adding it to my live site. I installed the plugin and went to create my first form, and in the Donation Options box, under set donation or multi-level donation I see this “Fatal error: Uncaught Error: [] operator not supported for strings in /home/site/folder/wp-content/plugins/give/includes/formatting.php:443”
I doubled checked and I am using PHP version 7.1.0
It did not work to install it via a ZIP file. I tried to use FTP, but the plugin did not appear in the plugins list so I could activate it.
What is going wrong and how can I fix it?
    Thank you!

    Hi there,

I recreated your problem on PHP 7.1. Everything works correctly except the Form Edit screen. I created this issue to track progress on a fix:
    https://github.com/WordImpress/Give/issues/1377

If you are using Siteground as your host, I’d recommend using their PHP Version Manager to revert back to PHP 7.0.14 for now.

    I’ll keep you posted. Thanks!

Thank you! Reverting back to PHP 7.0.14 fixed it. Thanks again!

Thank you! We also have fixed this for PHP 7.1 for the next release as well, so you’ll be able to upgrade again in the future.

If you’re enjoying Give and appreciate our support, we’d love a kind review from you here:
