• I was gettig this error: Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated 34340864) (tried to allocate 1610175 bytes) in /homepages/12/d256056811/htdocs/skle/wp-includes/wp-db.php on line 1092
I’ve read numerous posts on out of memory errors, tried some of the fixes but no help. I have 1&1 as host but if you read below, I’m not sure that’s the problem. I tried the wp-config.php mod to add more memory but it didn’t help.
I then put the phpinfo.php line in and checked and for memory_limit, it shows 120M for local and master.
This started yesterday after I had added a plugin for photo grid. It was working fine in the morning, but later started getting these errors. I have another plugin or two for photo gallery stuff and thought it may be a conflict.
With help from forum, I deactivated all plugins and started reactivating one at a time until, ithemes security plugin caused the issues. I have left it deactivated for now and all is working ok. I also had deactivated the photo grid and tried activating the ithemes security and it still crashed. Not sure what to with this, but maybe look for another security plugin.

  • Hi,

Can you disable the File Change Detection and see if that helps?

    Thanks,

Not sure, If I try to reactivate this plugin I don’t get far before crash. If there is a way to do so before activating, maybe, but I don’t know how.

Disregard last post. I deactivated all plugins. then activated ithemes security. It didn’t crash so I then turned off file change detection. Then added back most all the plugins I had before. It is not crashing/mem problem, etc.
So, is it save to leave this off? Is this what was taking up so much memory? If so, can I delete old stuff?

    Hi,

Depending on what’s happening on your site File Change Detection can be the most resource hungry feature in the plugin.

I know you adjusted the memory limits, but you might want to ask your host to do the same and see if that helps.

If that doesn’t help you may not be able to use this feature in your current WordPress/Server environment. The feature is slated for an efficiency update.
