Support » Plugin: WP Hide & Security Enhancer » Fatal Error: Out of Memory after Plugin Activation

  • Hello,

I’ve read great reviews about your plugin and thanks for making it free for use. However, it’s not working on my site, I keep getting the Fatal Error: Out of memory message after plugin activation.

    DETAILS:
    1. I installed the plugin (no problem, went smoothly)
    2. I clicked activate plugin and then I got this message on a white screen:

Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated 85458944) (tried to allocate 49152 bytes) in /home/*******/public_html/mysubdomainfolder/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-seo/admin/class-admin.php on line 236

After step 2, I couldn’t access the admin area or the site itself. I had to go in through the cpanel to gain access. At first, I thought it could be a conflict between the plugin and Yoast SEO as indicated above, so I renamed both Yoast SEO and WP Hide Security Enhancer plugin folders (Cpanel FTP) to automatically deactivate both of them. My website came back live as expected and I could again access the admin area once again.

I decided to try it all again but this time, with Yoast SEO deactivated. The result? A similar thing happened. Except this time round, I got this error message:

Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated 82575360) (tried to allocate 57345 bytes) in /home/******/public_html/subdomainfolder/wp-includes/pomo/streams.php on line 201

Why do I keep getting this error?

    Thanks

    Erika

    Hi Erika,
It appear you’re near the edge with the memory usage, as apparently you use some code (plugins and theme) which require quite high amount of memory. You should check with your host on how you increase the allocated memory resources, i suggest something like 128Mb, at the moment it look’s like ~80Mb

    Thanks
