So I’ve been through the FAQ, and many threads they all pretty much give a 4 step solution. and I’m feeling like an idiot right now for not understanding.

I tried to access the .htaccess file to add the
    ‘php_value memory_limit 64M’

and when I uploaded the file, I received an internal server error. Does this line have to be in a specific place?

  • If there is anything else in the .htaccess file, then this line should be at the top. That said, not all hosts allow you change your memory allocation using .htaccess. Have you spoken to your hosts about this at all?

I have talked to the lady who’s sharing her host with me, and she had said the .htaccess usually works for her. I guess I’ll have to have another chat with her.
