Support » Plugin: Fast eBay Listings » Fatal error on install & Question about seller ID

  • Resolved nofski

am I right in thinking that I can add a shortcode with the seller id and it will show items from different sellers.

I have a blog site where I would like each author to display their own listings

also I have installed plugin and I get the following error

Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘?’ in ……../plugins/fast-ebay-listings/admin.php on line 417

I see what the issue could be. I’m using a PHP7 feature on that line. I’m guessing you’re not using PHP7 yet – correct?

I’ll rewrite the code to be compatible with an older version of PHP for you. Could you let me know which version you are using.

But to answer, your first question, yes if you use the short code [fu_ebay_search] with the seller parameter to filter the ebay query to only show items from that seller. e.g.

    [fu_ebay_search seller=”someone”]

You can of course add other params to this shortcode to filter further by category, keywords etc.

Should now be fixed in version 1.1. Let me know if you run into further issues.

Just had chance to update and play and seems really good.

And yes i was running php 5.6. I contacted my host about 7 and they will update soon, they gave me some bs about waiting for a more stable release. There good so Im sure they will update.

Great news! I’ll ensure I continue to develop and test with PHP 5.5 and 5.6 in mind to ensure the plugin is usable by as many as possible. It definitely isn’t supported by PHP 5.4 currently – but that’s obsolete and no longer supported anyway!
