    Hello, I get the following error message when I try to customise any theme on my wordpress website : –

    Fatal error: Uncaught exception 'Exception' with message 'Supplied nav_menu_item value missing property: description' in /websites/123reg/LinuxPackage23/go/od/bo/ Stack trace: #0 /websites/123reg/LinuxPackage23/go/od/bo/ WP_Customize_Nav_Menu_Item_Setting->__construct(Object(WP_Customize_Manager), 'nav_menu_item[6...', Array) #1 [internal function]: WP_Customize_Nav_Menus->customize_register(Object(WP_Customize_Manager)) #2 /websites/123reg/LinuxPackage23/go/od/bo/ call_user_func_array(Array, Array) #3 /websites/123reg/LinuxPackage23/go/od/bo/ do_action('customize_regis...', Object(WP_Customize_Manager)) #4 [internal function]: WP_Customize_Manager->wp_loaded('') #5 /websites/123reg/LinuxPackage23/go/od/bo/g in /websites/123reg/LinuxPackage23/go/od/bo/ on line 824

    It happens on any theme. I have tried reinstalling wordpress manually and deactivating all plugins, but I still get the same error message. I have also been in touch with my hosts support who haven’t been very helpful to say the least.

    I have a second site working on the server and it will allow me to access the customiser. Any ideas on how to fix this would be much appreciated as I have tried over and over and am unable to fix it. Thanks in advance.

  • Yeah !!! Great News Marius solved an the issue I have been plagued by by for MONTHS !!! no one had managed to sort it, my host provider gave up, My Theme provider gave up, several forums couldnt solve it.

    Well done and thanks a bunch !!!

    Yes, try downloading WordPress again and delete then replace your copies of everything except the wp-config.php file and the /wp-content/ directory with fresh copies from the download. This will effectively replace all of your core files without damaging your content and settings.

    Thank you James Huff, this suggestion worked for me.
