• Downloaded the .pot file from inside the langs folder to translate it and Poedit gives me fatal error while trying to create translation.

    ...\0ref.pot:1203: duplicate message definition...
...\0ref.pot:47: ...this is the location of the first definition
    ...\msgmerge.exe: found 1 fatal error

    Just letting you know.
In the meantime, I’ll try to download one of the other languages .po file and translate from there.

  • Hi @techsmurfy, thank you for the report.

What is the language that you have issues with ?

Doesn’t matter what language I choose to translate to. I get this fatal error as soon as I load the .pot file.

Anyway, I’ll probably use one of the translated .po files and re-translate from there if needed.

Aaah I see, yes opening the .po files is how it works, you never edit the .pot file.

I just open a PO file without any issue, I am using the Poedit version 2.0

What language are you trying to translate ?

    That would be greek.

It’s just that there are discrepancies in the lines of text to translate depending on the language. For example, the french .po file has 300 lines, the chinese .po file has 278 etc, which is why, if I’m not mistaken, you import/update from a .pot file.
