Fatal error in Media Library after ShortPixel Image Optimiser update

    After updating ShortPixel Image Optimizer, the WordPress Media Library now throws a fatal error when trying to display all media/images.

    The issue appears to be triggered by ShortPixel’s backup/preview logic while processing media items.

    Rolling back to 6.4.4 puts everything back to normal

    I just found the same issue on my clients’ sites this morning. Sometimes too many features are too much, y’know? I have zero interest in all this AI crap for images, too. Make that an addon for people, not part of the whole plugin.

    The errors should now be gone, but please confirm if everything is fine as we weren’t able to reproduce these errors in our dev environments and during the testing stages of the 6.5.0 update.

    If this will fix the issues, we’ll make sure to release this update as soon as possible!

    When I visit the ShortPixel Settings on a new install, all I see is the ShortPixel top banner.

    I cannot see the form or license key entry field or anything else.

    Version 6.4.4 is ok on my other sites. Is this a known 6.5 issue also?

    Yes, this is a known issue in the latest version which the dev version I provided above should fix too.

    Please install this bugfix version of ShortPixel Image Optimizer on top of the other one and confirm if you still encounter any issues: https://we.tl/t-uN3bjpwDZX2oMtTc

    It has the same plugin version but it’s actually a hotfix release which isn’t publicly released yet.
