Fatal error in index.php on line 1

    Keep getting : “Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_header() in /home/xxxxxx/public_html/index.php on line 1”, after uploading theme file. What have I done?

    No Just downloaded a new theme file from wordpress”Gear” and uploaded as per instructions

    You may have replaced the wrong index.php file. There sometimes is one in the theme folder and there is one in the root folder. The root folder file should not be replaced when adding a new theme.
