Support » Plugin: Autoptimize » Fatal Error if any option is activated.

  • I was excited after reading a post online that would help appease the Google PageSpeed Gods and it referenced this plugin, also showed that it was updated 2 months ago… I guess the dev needs much more work before pushign this live. I hope the bugs get fixed.

    the developer has been working on Autoptimize every day for the last 3 years, so that’s OK, but as per the FAQ;
    * don’t use multiple minification plugins at the same time which is the reason for fatal errors in 90% of the cases
    * in the remaining 10% of the cases you should try switching to the legacy minifiers

    let me know if you need more assistance @ithudsonspine 🙂

    We are not running any other magnification plugins. This is a pretty light site to begin with. We have just tried to turn some of the existing content plugins off, and it’s still causing the fatal errors.

    ok, let’s try to break this down;
    1. what (if any) errors do you see in your php errorlog?
    2. does the problem persist when you (briefly) disable all other plugins?
    3. does the problem persist when you (breifly) switch to one of the default theme’s (twentyseventeen)?
    4. does the problem persist when you force AO to legacy mode (cfr. FAQ)?
