• Fatal error: Call to undefined function wp_encode_emoji() in /home/dickins7/public_html/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-facebook/lib/util.php on line 435

Both the web page and admin page come up with this. I was trying to add a facebook plugin to a business page. I am very new to this and couldn’t find an answer in the forums. I don’t know what version of WordPress I am using and am not sure how to find out. Please help!!

  • Good day!

You can FTP into your website and go to /wp-content/plugins … and rename “nextgen-facebook” to “nextgen-facebook-bak” … which will stop the error.

Hope that fixes it for you. Seems there might be an issue with the plugin util.php.

Thank you and I am very sorry but could you explain how to FTP into the website? I did not create this site its a work website and this is only my 2nd time using it.

You need to install FTP client on your computer, e.g.: FileZilla.

You’ll need username and password for FTP access, usually you should have that.

Give your server IP address or name and login. you’ll see the server directory structure, navigate to WordPress-Installation-Directory/wp-content/plugin/… find nextgen-facebook and rename it to facebook-nextgen-bak.

    Hope it works for you!
    All the best!

The FTP information would be in the Welcome Email you received from your hosting provider when you signed up with them 🙂

Here’s a link to FileZilla to download; (since there’s a client and a server)

Let us know how that works out for you with the fix.

I tried that and it says cannot connect to server 🙁 The username and password I put in are the ones used on the website admin page. I am very sorry to keep bothering you I really do appreciate your help!

No, no bother at all. 🙂 Just happy to figure this out and help you.

The username/password for WordPress wouldn’t be the same as the username/password for FTP.

You can always contact your hosting provider to get that information. Actually, you can use the username/password for your control panel for FTP access also.

I have only been at this job for a month so this is all new to me. I do not have the welcome email and have no idea who the hosting provider is, is there a way to find that out? The only username and password I have are for the WordPress website site dickinsonareabuilders.com. I believe the company had someone else set the website up the only thing i was given was a simple tutorial of how to use the dashboard.

I downloaded the wordpress 4.4 zip WinRAR evaluation copy, but i cant find anything modified in there from todays date. Is there anything in there that I could change that would help? Again I’m sorry I’m basically clueless on this.

    Hi,

These guys seem to be where your domain points, so they have or SHOULD have the information you need and be able to assist you at no cost in providing you with access to your hosting control panel or giving you ftp information like IP, username, password and port.

Hope that helps. The contact seems to be; catherine@westernedgemedia.com

Thank you thank you thank you!!! I am waiting for a reply from them.

@daba123, not a problem. I hope they get you the information needed and you can solve this by renaming that plugin so it deactivates itself. 🙂
