Can you replicate the problem using the default Twenty Twelve theme with all plugins expect NextGen NivoSlider deactivated?
@websiteguy: Please read the original post before replying. How can someone troubleshoot an error in a plugin by deactivating all plugins?
@jahanzeb Khan: Have you tried re-uploading a fresh copy of the plugin using FTP?
@esmi Yes, I have a few times, I deactivated the plugin and uninstalled it, re uploaded it manually once and even installed it(after manually uploading didn’t work) through the built in wordpress plugin search.
Both ways didn’t work.
Also, I’m running this on localhost.
Are all of your other plugins working OK? Can you try using the plugin on another server?
@esmi I’ll try upload it, but I don’t like to because my net is slow and uploading takes long, so I usually upload projects near or at the end. All other plugins are working. WP-NivoSlider plugin was working, but this nextgen nivoslider isn’t. I’m on windows XP, working on localhost right now.
Could it be possible that it’s becuase I didn’t fill in every single setting in the widget?
I don’t know this plugin at all but, yes, that would be a distinct possibility.
I got it working, I started to look for another slider after emailing the developer, and I saw another NextGEN Flex slider, and it told that you needed the nextGEN gallery plugin to make it work, so the idea came to my head that it’s probably the same for this, and I installed the nextGEN gallery plguin and now it works 🙂
