Hi @churchadminpbc
Sorry for the hassle. The easiest fix would be to contact your hosts and ask them if they can increase your PHP version, the version they are running is very old.
If they are unable, the following will need to be done:
Access your server via FTP OR Hosting File Manager, every host has one. For example, there is one in cPanel. Go to /wp-content/themes/ and delete the vantage folder. At that point you’ll be able to access your WP install again. 1.7.1 or 1.7.2 have this issue resolved, it’s only 1.7 released on Saturday that has this issue impacting old PHP versions. Once access is restored you can reinstall Vantage from Themes > Add New.
Thank you for your response. Before finding this site I contacted our host. They said they would have to revert my website which would change the look. Is that what I want them to do?
If they can revert the site to before the upgrade then definitely. If you upgrade now you can check that you’re upgrading to Vantage 1.7.2, in which we’ve fixed this function that wasn’t working with PHP 5.2. While they’re at it, if the option exists, to move you to PHP 7.2, it’s worth taking.
Great, I will contact them and hopefully all will be well 😉 Blessings!
Thanks for your understanding, it’s most appreciated.
Summary:
Roll back or delete the ‘vantage’ folder in /wp-content/themes/. That would restore admin access at which time you could install the latest version which has this issue resolved.
While you’re communicating, if you can have your PHP version increased, it would be good to do. It would also resolve this issue.
Andrew, they were able to make the update and all is better!
Super 🙂 Glad to hear all is well now. Thanks for your understanding. All the best.
