    hello,

everything was working just fine and then i attempted to add 'events calendar' plugin and now i keep getting this error message:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class WP_Locale in /home2/presenu6/public_html/wp-includes/locale.php on line 14

I have looked on other posts for info but:
    1. I can't access my dashboard as i also get the error for this
    2. I can't find the file via my ftp - its not in plugins folder

Please help - i am out of my own options.

    Thanks

Delete the events calendar via FTP from your plugins directory if you believe that's the issue.

It's possible that there's a function or class name that is conflicting with WP_Locale the core class. You're not looking for a file named WP_Locale your looking for a class or function INSIDE of a .php file that is the same name as the one in the core.

This did not works as i could not find the file - ended up having to reinstall everything - luckily there was not much content up on the site so it was not too much of a problem.

    Thanks for your suggestions though.

    Best

I had the same Cannot redeclare class WP_Locale etc. wp-includes/locale.php on line 14 error on some of the sites I look after.

Deactivating the Events Plugin before the upgrade to 3.0 will work.
You can also delete the plugin via FTP if you get stuck. Of course deleting the plugin is more drastic and you should only do that if the upgrade fails with the Cannot redeclare class WP_Locale error.

Much better to deactivate events plugin before hand.

Keep and eye on http://wordpress.org/support/topic/409138?replies=20 where the discussion is continuing.

The plugin developer notes (on 17th June) "I came across a big error a few days ago and have not figured it out before the release of WordPress 3.0 today"
