# Fatal error: Call to undefined function

 * I’m creating a WordPress theme and it was going fine until today. I was editing
   the default theme (but keeping the original files).
 * Here’s a link to what I’ve been doing:
    [http://emmasrevolution.com/wordpress/wp-content/themes/default/index.php](http://emmasrevolution.com/wordpress/wp-content/themes/default/index.php)
 * which gets this error:
    “Fatal error: Call to undefined function: get_header()
   in O:\Hosted Web Sites\pat.humphries\emmasrevolution_com\www\wordpress\wp-content\
   themes\default\index.php on line 1”
 * I searched the problem and found this topic (see link below) which didn’t help,
   since I didn’t edit any of my index.php files. I checked all the date modified
   information for my files to make sure.

 * You can NOT access ever any template file like this:
    [http://emmasrevolution.com/wordpress/wp-content/themes/default/index.php](http://emmasrevolution.com/wordpress/wp-content/themes/default/index.php)
   Don’t even try. That’s why you get the error.

 * You can’t access themes directly like that you have to make them the active theme
   in your blog first. Then you access you blog not the themes folder.
