    Woocommerce 2.1.7

    Memory Limit is set to 128MB

    I am trying to change a product featured image and I keep getting the following error despite having a limit of 128MB

    Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 7680 bytes) in /home/chillou7/public_html/wp-admin/includes/ajax-actions.php on line 523

    I need to update my product image, please help?!

    Thanks
    Phil

    @chill,
    This msg is saying that you're exhausting 8MB of memory. Your memory setting of 128mb is not working, I think.... Try contacting your host to up your memory.

    Hi varktech.com

    I have contacted the host. All settings seem to be in order and woocommerce reports the memory limit is set to 128. Also phpinfo reports 128.
    So I don't think it is the memory limit, something else is wrong.

    @chill,
    in wp-config, add in:

    define('WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '64M');

    See if that helps.

    The memory limit is set to 128MB in both wp-congif.php and in php.ini.
    As I said above phpinfo reports the limit of 128 and so does Woocommerce Status data. The issue doesn't seem to be with the memory limit but with some bug in the WordPress or woocommerce code?!

    The problem was solved by adding the following code at the beginning of the ajax-actions.php file right after <?php

    ini_set('memory_limit','256M');

    You're going to want to add this to the bottom of your wp-config.php file.

    ini_set('memory_limit','256M');

    If you add it just in ajax-actions.php, it will get overwritten at the first Core update.
