# Fatal error: Allowed memory size

 * Got recently installed and was uploading a few themes and Plug In – Buddy Press
   which wouldn’t install for some reason. Now I get this at my main admin page 
   and can’t log in:
 * **Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate
   30720 bytes) in /home/enablecr/public_html/wp-admin/includes/upgrade.php on line
   1322**
 * Help suggestions please?

 * Backed up Softaculous DB then deleted a stray wp folder in the directory and 
   at least the log in page appeared but then, the same message…

 * Hi jonnydenable,
 * That’s a PHP memory error. Try the suggestions in [this forum thread](http://wordpress.org/support/topic/fatal-error-allowed-memory-size-13?replies=4).
   If all else fails you may have to contact your host to see if they can increase
   the allotted memory.

 * OK support at UK2.net tells me I have to add
 * memory_limit = 64M
 * in a new PHP.ini file as well as add
 * SetEnv PHPRC /home/username/public_html/php.ini
 * to the ht.access file.
 * But I have very little coding knowledge.
 * Could you tell me what the whole php-ini code looks like and is it just a notepad
   file called PHP.ini (ext: ini)?
