Fatal Error after update/when activating

  • I have used the All-In-One Event Calendar for quite a while for my library’s WordPress website and love it. It does everything I want it to do and looks nice and modern. However, after one of the updates to the plugin a month or more ago, it caused all kinds of issues and I had to delete it. I’ve tried periodically to get it working to no avail. I’ve deleted/re-installed several times, and whenever I go to activate it, I get this error: Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error. Can anyone tell me what could be causing this and how to fix it? I like this plugin and it is perfect for what I want, but I’ve been without it for over a month now and now that summer is here, I need a calendar plugin to post our events to. I can’t keep waiting and hoping it will eventually get fixed. Any information would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

  • Can you give me more information? Version of the plugin and wordpress. Can you see in your website error log what exactly is the error?

I don’t know what the previous version of the plugin was that worked, but I can’t activate 2.0.8. WordPress version is 3.9.1. Where do I find the error log?

I suppose that you have control panel for your hosting. Look for logs and you will find them. But I do not know much for the control panels, never used one. I know only where to find them if you have your own server.

Our regional library system does the hosting for us. I just log directly into WordPress to update the website.

Then you maybe will have to ask for help some system administrator from the library.
