    Hello,

Thanks for your plugin which has worked perfectly until the last update (2.7.3). That somehow broke my site but thankfully I was able to disable it to access it again.

When I try to reactivate the plugin, I now get a fatal error. I am pasting it below FYI; note that I removed my site folder info for security and replaced it with ‘[my site folder]’:

Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Class 'MCI_Footnotes_Layout_Engine' not found in [my site folder]/wp-content/plugins/footnotes/class/dashboard/subpage-diagnostics.php:16 Stack trace: #0 [my site folder]/wp-content/plugins/footnotes/includes.php(32): require_once() #1 [my site folder]/wp-content/plugins/footnotes/includes.php(38): mci_footnotes_require_php_files('[my site folder]...') #2 [my site folder]/wp-content/plugins/footnotes/footnotes.php(110): require_once('[my site folder]...') #3 [my site folder]/wp-admin/includes/plugin.php(2300): include('[my site folder]...') #4 /[my site folder]/wp-admin/plugins.php(191): plugin_sandbox_scrape('footnotes/footn...') #5 {main} thrown in [my site folder]/wp-content/plugins/footnotes/class/dashboard/subpage-diagnostics.php on line 16

Is there an easy fix for this?

    Many thanks!

    Hi @adleya,

It looks like the version running on your webserver is looking for files that are no longer shipping with the new versions. So to make sure it’s all clean, can you try the following:
    – delete the footnotes plugin folder manually from your webserver. It’s in wp-content/plugins/foonotes
    – then go to your WordPress dashboard -> Plugins -> Add and reinstall footnotes

Please let me know how that’s going for you.

    Best wishes,
    Mark
