    Hi,

After updating our site to the latest version of WordPress I noticed the menus were strangely formatted. I updated the theme but this caused more issues, so I decided to restore a previously saved version of the website.

The restore process went quite smoothly until I tried to view the site. It came up with a Fatal Error message. This of course meant the admin pages were not available to me, so now I cannot attempt to restore back.

The message: Fatal error: Cannot declare class WP_Widget_Block, because the name is already in use in /var/sites/d/derehammensshed.org.uk/public_html/wp-includes/widgets/class-wp-widget-block.php on line 0

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi,

Could you try to temporarily deactivate all plugins and see if the issue goes away? If yes, then one of the plugins is causing the issue. You will need to activate it one by one to find the culprit.

    Thanks,
    Bryle

    Hi Rich,

Great! Glad you were able to solve the issue.

    Thanks,
    Bryle

One of my clients got the message “PHP Fatal error: Cannot declare class WP_Widget_Block, because the name is already in use in … wp-includes/widgets/class-wp-widget-block.php”

This was caused by the old Gutenberg plugin. Removing the plugin fixed the problem.

    I will ticket about this.
