    Hi,

There is a fatal error when trying to donate. There is also an error in the dashboard when trying to update the database. I tried all the options in the troubleshooting article but still not working. Can you help to take a look?

    Thanks.

    Hi there,

We’ve seen similar errors from folks when a GiveWP revenue table is not created. That is a process that should have happened upon update to GiveWP 2.9.x, and we’ve found a few cases where it didn’t.

The difference now is that a donation made on 2.10.x relies more heavily on that revenue table, so if it’s not there, it throws a more major error.

The good news is that it’s fairly straightforward to fix the error in 2.10.x, as well.

    1. First, I’d recommend taking a backup of the site that you can confidently restore from. Here’s an article we wrote that explains more clearly how to do that: https://givewp.com/backup-for-faster-troubleshooting/
    2. Next, enable Advanced Database Updates in Donations > Settings > Advanced.
    3. Next, run the update in Donations -> Tools -> Data re-run the create_revenue_table update.
    4. Check the logs at Donations > Tools > Logs for errors. If there are any errors, pass those along here.
    5. Attempte to re-run any updates that appear at Donations > Updates.
    6. Last, navigate back to Donations > Settings > Advanced and disable Advanced Database Updates.

That should get you back on track. If it doesn’t, please reply back here, and we’ll help!
