Support » Fixing WordPress » Fatal error after activating "WordPress Shortcodes" Plug-in

  • Right after I activated this plug-in, I was taken to a page with this error message:

“Fatal error: Call to undefined function fnmatch() in D:\Hosting\4708510\html\wordpress\wp-content\plugins\synved-shortcodes\synved-plugout\synved-plugout-core.php on line 336”

The same page comes up if I try to visit or log in to my site. It’s entirely inaccessible, and quite honestly, I’m freaking out. Please help me fix this!

  • That can be a real pain when it happens to you for the first time, but no real need to panic. You can usually solve the problem by using your ftp client or the file manager in your hosts control panel to just delete the /synved-shortcodes plugin directory. That should probably put you back in control of things.

Thanks, I got similar advice from the plug-in creator. Just did that, and it worked! I’m going to figure out how to back up my site now. Everything was fine, but I couldn’t help but worry that I would lose files or something.
