    Hi,

I’ve recently set up a website using the blocksy theme and companion app + stackable. Unfortunately I get a fatal error on the companion app admin page. Otherwise the theme is functioning as expected, I’m just not able to access the admin page of the companion plug-in.

    Wp version: 5.8.2
    Blocksy theme: 1.8.6.9
    Companion: 1.8.9.9

This is my error log on the Blocksy companion admin page in WP backend:

    Fatal error: Uncaught ValueError: Unknown format specifier "w" in /home/deb122284n2/domains/mydomain.com/public_html/wp-content/plugins/blocksy-companion/freemius/templates/connect.php:221 Stack trace: #0 /home/deb122284n2/domains/mydomain.com/public_html/wp-content/plugins/blocksy-companion/freemius/templates/connect.php(221): sprintf() #1 /home/deb122284n2/domains/mydomain.com/public_html/wp-content/plugins/blocksy-companion/freemius/includes/fs-core-functions.php(57): require('/home/deb122284...') #2 /home/deb122284n2/domains/mydomain.com/public_html/wp-content/plugins/blocksy-companion/freemius/includes/class-freemius.php(22518): fs_get_template() #3 /home/deb122284n2/domains/mydomain.com/public_html/wp-includes/class-wp-hook.php(303): Freemius->_connect_page_render() #4 /home/deb122284n2/domains/mydomain.com/public_html/wp-includes/class-wp-hook.php(327): WP_Hook->apply_filters() #5 /home/deb122284n2/domains/mydomain.com/public_html/wp-includes/plugin.php(470): WP_Hook->do_action() #6 /home/deb122284n2/domains/mydomain.com/public_html/wp-admin/admin.php(259): do_action() #7 {main} thrown in /home/deb122284n2/domains/mydomain.com/public_html/wp-content/plugins/blocksy-companion/freemius/templates/connect.php on line 221

I get the same error when accessing Stackables admin page. Have tried to disable other plugins but to no avail. Any help is much appreciated.

    Hello @folderfabriek,
That’s really weird, this never happened to us.

Are you somehow using the pro version of the Blocksy Companion?

    Hi,

Thanks for your reply. I installed the companion app when prompted during Blocksy theme install (which I dl’ed from your website). Had a look in plugin list but no mention of pro version. Does the error log shed any light on possible solutions?

Thanks for your help, much appreciated

Ps. Can I reinstall the companion app without losing data?

    Hello @folderfabriek,
The Blocksy Companion plugin (free version) is not hosted on our website.
Only the pro version is hosted on our website.

Could you please remove the Blocksy Companion plugin, go to Plugins section -> Add New -> search for Blocksy Companion and install it one more time (https://tppr.me/g5h6x).

And no, you won’t lose data by reinstalling the Blocksy Companion plugin.

Let me know how it goes.

    Hi again,

No change unfortunately. Deactivated, removed and reinstalled companion app as suggested. Same error.

The Blocksy Companion plugin (free version) is not hosted on our website. Only the pro version is hosted on our website.

Does the error log suggest this?

    Thx again!

    Hey @folderfabriek,
Could you please try and change your PHP version to something lower than 8.0.1 and try again?

Let me know if this will help.

Excellent! Downgraded from PHP 8.0 to 7.4, all is working well. Is this a known issue and will i be able to upgrade php in the future?

Anyway, many thanks for your help

    Hi @folderfabriek,
Awesome, glad it works fine now.

Yes, we are working on a small improvement for this case and if everything goes well the next update will contain it 🙂

    Have a nice day!
