Support » Installing WordPress » Fatal Error

  • Hi all. I’m currently trying to install WordPress v2.2.1 into my root directory. I’ve uploaded all the files, but when I go to the install.php page I get the following error message:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function did_action() in /home2/oekss/public_html/wp-includes/functions.php on line 1345

I have no idea what this means, or how to fix it. I’ve tried re-uploading the files twice, and get the same message every time.

    Any help is appreciated!

  • Sometimes it is worth to retry with a fresh copy – files could be corrupted during the download, unzip, upload…

Especially check the /wp-includes/plugin.php file: the function is defined on line #171 and onward.

    Re-downloaded, re-uploaded, same issue 🙁

Do the files have to be installed in a folder called “/wordpress/”? Because I’m just takeing everything in that folder and throwing it in my root directory. That’s the only thing I can think of.

From experience, it means you didnt rename wp-config-sample.php

WHERE are you trying to install wordpress, what is the url?

Wow. You’re right, I completely forgot to rename the config file.

There goes a couple hours wasted!

    Thanks guys 🙂
