Support » Installing WordPress » Fatal Error: Call to undefined function (widget / dashboard)

  • Greetings WordPress Gurus,

I believe someone might ask this question but if so, I would like to apologize. Now, after i had successfully put my db name, host and other information, WP had given me the admin access with password provided.

After I logged in, it says this:

‘Fatal error: Call to undefined function: wp_register_sidebar_widget() in /nfs/c01/h04/mnt/44826/domains/ on line 32’

What would that mean and how can I resolve this? I truly appreciate your kind assistant.

p/s: I tried asking the (mt) media support for this matter but I’m still waiting for their respond.

Thank yo very much and have a great day.

  • Btw, I’m using 2.5.1 version of wordpress.

Unfortunately, that means at least one file, wordpress/wp-includes/widgets.php, is not completely intact, so might try reuploading that file. If the same issue surfaces with other files might need to delete and reupload all the WordPress files.

If using FTP, remember need ASCII mode (or auto mode in FileZilla).

Uploading WordPress to a remote host

I see. Let me try to uninstall and reupload it again. Keeping my finger cross. Thanks MichaelH. 🙂
