    Getting a fatal error (full error below). All plugins are up to date as well as theme and WordPress. Strong testimonials is version: 2.40.2

    Site loads ok, but error is generated when trying to access gemgates.ca/wp-admin

    I have renamed the plugin via file manager (cPanel), then able to access wp-admin.
    When I rename the plugin back to it’s original name, it presents the same error:

    Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Call to a member function get() on null in /home/gemgates/public_html/wp-includes/query.php:28 Stack trace: #0 /home/gemgates/public_html/wp-content/plugins/strong-testimonials.old/includes/class-strong-testimonials-order.php(75): get_query_var(‘paged’) #1 /home/gemgates/public_html/wp-includes/class-wp-hook.php(287): Strong_Testimonials_Order::store_query_vars(Object(WP_Query)) #2 /home/gemgates/public_html/wp-includes/class-wp-hook.php(311): WP_Hook->apply_filters(NULL, Array) #3 /home/gemgates/public_html/wp-includes/plugin.php(544): WP_Hook->do_action(Array) #4 /home/gemgates/public_html/wp-includes/class-wp-query.php(1772): do_action_ref_array(‘pre_get_posts’, Array) #5 /home/gemgates/public_html/wp-includes/class-wp-query.php(3436): WP_Query->get_posts() #6 /home/gemgates/public_html/wp-includes/post.php(2050): WP_Query->query(Array) #7 /home/gemgates/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wpforms/includes/class-form.php(163): get_posts(Array) #8 /home/gemgates/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wpf in /home/gemgates/public_html/wp-includes/query.php on line 28

  • I’m seeing a similar situation; when I rename the folder to strong-testimonials-disabled, I can load wp-admin; so I used WP Rollback to roll back to version 2.40.1 (from 2.40.2) and now I’m not seeing any issues. Please advise ASAP; THANKS!

    Hi

    Thanks for the update – how to go about replacing the older version when it is disabled (renamed). I cannot re-enable without crashing the site trying to access the wp-admin

    P.s. of course I don’t want to lose existing testimonials

    Hi @abu117,

    I recommend deleting the plugin and reinstalling it.

    Warmly,
    Mihaela

    Thanks for the speedy response! The new version works fine; hooray! Although the buttons on the slideshow now all have “<” symbols within the circles; not a big deal. That could be a much more leisurely fix! 🙂 Really appreciate the speed of your reply with the quick fix!!! MUCH appreciated! 🙂
    … Interestingly, on another site using the plugin, I WAS able to log in with the 2.40.2 version and then do a normal back end update to 2.40.3. On the other site, I used the WP Rollback plugin to revert to the 2.40.1 version and then updated it to 2.40.3 from there. Go figure! 🙂

    Thank you so much for letting me know it works now. Happy to hear that! 💖🎆
