Fatal Error

    @blondemoment

    My first venture into PHP and databases and so far not so good! I’d like to pretend I know what I’m doing, but I wont. 🙂 I’ve just installed everything as per the five minute instructions, but when pointing my browser to install.php I recieve the following error/s.
    Warning: Unexpected character in input: ‘\’ (ASCII=92) state=1 in /home/sitename/public_html/dir/wp-config.php on line 2
    Parse error: parse error in /home/sitename/public_html/dir/wp-config.php on line 2
    Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in /home/sitename/public_html/dir/wp-admin/install.php on line 52
    I’m using my c Panel to create the database, and I think I’ve followed the instructions, but if someone would be so kind as to point me in the right direction, I’d appreciate it. I’m feeling like a bit of a zippy here..

    Thank you to anyone who took the time to look at this, but I think I’ve solved my problem.
    If anyone else has a similar issue, try comparing the wp-config.php on your computer to the wp-config.php you’ve uploaded. For some reason there were some major discrepancies. I copied and pasted from the file on my computer and saved it on the server and bingo – all is well with the universe once more.
    Thanks again!
