    @engenheirouva We’re sorry to hear you are experiencing this issue on your site.

    Can you please share with us the specific details of the fatal error that you received?

    Also, when you performed the update were you updating from version 16.2 to 16.3? You can learn more about updating here: https://yoast.com/help/how-can-i-update-my-free-plugin/

    Do you still see the error when you update to v16.3. The update process is same — either you can update from the Plugins page or Dashboard >> Updates page.

    Yes. the fatal error happened after updated yoast.

    I found out as well plugin Unyson was causing a critical error msg on the health status even thought it was still working. I desactived this plugin and that error msg has gone. Maybe if I update now will be fine. But now I have a peak time on the website for the follow days so I will do after that traffic peak. And I give an update here it works fine.

    critical error msg on the health status was:
    A PHP session was created by a session_start() function call. This interferes with REST API and loopback requests. The session should be closed by session_write_close() before making any HTTP requests.

    Hi, this same thing happened to me when updating from 16.2 to 16.3.

    The error message displayed on the web browser after is: “There has been a critical error on this website.”

    My host said these are what’s showing in the log:

    #0 /public_html/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-seo/src/generated/container.php(914): Yoast\WP\SEO\Generated\Cached_Container->getImageHelper4Service()

    Hi @travellingfoodie

    We are sorry you’re having a similar issue. Even though the issue might be similar (fatal errors when updating to the latest version of Yoast SEO v16.3), please open a new request. That way it’s easier to track issues and provide assistance. You’ll also receive notifications and replies specific to your setup. Thanks!
