Support » Fixing WordPress » Fastest admin method for linking to other posts

  • Now that I am a year and a half into WordPress, there are certain aspects of my daily posting life that I would like to try to improve.

The first is how I easily link to other previous posts I have written. How do all of you do this?

I always have to have two windows for my admin open, and then search for the old post. Then, by preference, I actually use the post id in my link call and let my permalinking rewrite it (in case I update my slug later I don’t have to worry about changing the corresponding links).

I wasn’t sure if there was a plugin out there that would let me pull or right click, view all of my posts and then click the post to link to it either as the post id or as the full link with slug.

Any suggestions, minor or not, would be welcomed. I am looking into offline blogging clients to get a more rich editing tool set. Looking at Windows Live Writer right now…but seeing posts on the forum about there being some issues with WP 2.6. So, for now will probably stick to manual coding in the posts using the WordPress GUI.
