• I tried xSpeed Cache on a WordPress staging site before rolling it out, and it’s a great little plugin.

The setup wizard is quick and clear. It checks your environment, then gives you three presets (Conservative, Balanced and Aggressive) with plain-English explanations of what each one does. I went with Balanced and left JS minify and Defer JavaScript off, which the plugin itself warns are the riskier options. I really appreciate that it’s upfront about what can break on some themes instead of pretending every setting is safe.

The difference showed up straight away. The built-in benchmark compares your homepage with and without cache, and the gap was huge. Lighthouse scores improved on both desktop and mobile, with the biggest gain in Largest Contentful Paint. Pages feel snappy for visitors who aren’t logged in.
