Fantastico to WordPress

    Hi,

    If I originally installed WordPress using Fantastico and want to change that to a direct Worpress installation, what is the easiest way?

    On one blog there are no posts so not worried about ‘losing’ anything. On another I do have posts.

    I presume I cannot just install WordPress over the Fantastico install.

    Actually you can. And if you have 2.7 or later you can reinstall from within the WP admin area. I know some hosts add extra stuff in the db when you use their auto-installers, but this still shouldn’t prevent you from updating the code using the wp auto-upgrade or auto-reinstall features. Of course, you could always manually update the code as well.
