What is exactly the problem with the gallery categories? Please explain step by step and as detailed as possible.

Hello! Oh, thank you for responding so quickly…I’m on a tight deadline & in panic mode. As I said, I have setup a gallery using FGL on this page: http://test.whistlestop-florist.com/portfolio-3/. And I have also setup my list of categories according to the plugin instructions…but all I see on the page is the grid of thumbnails (which is exactly what I wanted, along w/your beautiful image slide viewer), but no category filter. Does that feature only come in the paid version??

What is the “category filter”? A list of all non-empty gallery categories? And how did you try to implement it to your theme template?

No. Shouldn’t I be able to see a menu of categories across the top of the gallery grid, so that I can filter which images appear? (i.e., I would like to “sort” the thumbnails that appear in the grid by such categories as: Ceremony, Reception, Bouquets, etc., and perhaps be able to “cross-sort” by color as well, if possible). Similar to what you would see on a filterable portfolio (only w/photos). Something similar to this: http://www.jqueryrain.com/?tLgUC9zg

I don’t know. Is this a feature of your theme? If yes, you should ask the theme author. This forum is for the Fancy Gallery Lite plugin. 😉

No it is not a feature of my theme…that’s why I wanted to use Fancy Gallery Lite, because looking at your screenshots & gallery management features, it looks like filtering thumbnails by category IS a feature of your plugin. Why else would there be category settings, etc.?

This is a plugin and not a theme. It will not add any filters or something like that to your front-end!

If you need a category filter you would need to add it to your template. Or hire someone who do that for you. Or use a theme which has that feature…

By default every category has its own archive where you can see all galleries from this category and you can add the category list (with links) as widget to a widget area of your choice.
