    Hi,
    This message is not true:
“1,826 Bilder und 21,152 Vorschaubilder wurden noch nicht von ShortPixel optimiert.”
This is exactly the number of images i have all in all and they have been optimized once – thats why i have a “ShortpixelBackup”-folder.

    So what to do now?

    Hi @maskenterror,

If you optimized your images and now they appear as not optimized, that’s probably happening because our logs from the WP metadata are missing. Here’s more information about this: https://shortpixel.helpscoutdocs.com/article/117-why-are-my-images-re-compressed.

If you have a backup of your website and/or your database, I would recommend you to restore it to get the logs and the metadata back.

If you don’t have a backup, I’m afraid there’s not so much we can do, as we can’t control what each and every single plugin out there does to the images.

I’ll be around if you need any further assistance.

    Best,

“If you have a backup of your website and/or your database”
This is a very weird question to ask since my website als still there and my database of course too.

    Hi @maskenterror,

Actually it’s not weird at all to have a backup of your website and/or the database 🙂 There are numerous plugins that let you make a backup of your site and download it to your computer, in case you need to restore it because something got ugly on your site. You can try Duplicator, BackupBuddy or similars.

    Cheers!

Its NOT about any kind of backup.
It seems as if you want to derail the discussion.

    Its simply like that:
Nothing changed – except that your tool tries to tell me that the images has not been optimised before and this is WRONG.

    Hi @maskenterror,

I don’t want to derail the discussion. I understand that nothing changed on your site, and I believe you.

What I’m trying to say is that we already have seen this issue multiple times, when suddenly the images appear as unoptimized. Like I said, this happens because ShortPixel metadata is erased, for example because of another plugin modifying the images (it’s just an example, not saying it was the cause of your issue). Here’s more info about this: https://shortpixel.helpscoutdocs.com/article/117-why-are-my-images-re-compressed

Now, like I said, we can’t do anything to recover this metadata, as it is out of our control what other plugins do on the database. That’s why I said that your best option would be to use an existing database backup to recover your metadata.

If you really believe there’s an issue with ShortPixel, we will be happy to take a look at your site if you send us a temporary admin access to your site. Please do so via our contact page and be sure to mention this ticket.

    Best,

If it would be true what you say – why does your plugin recognize my API-Key as valid?
    Why does it say this????

    Good morning,

The API key, the credits used and the disk space used are not related to this. Here’s how the process works:

    1. You click on “Optimize”
      • ShortPixel validates your API key and your image gets optimized. Disk space and credits are used
      • ShortPixel stores the metadata (percentage of optimization, if it’s optimized or not…) on the database

Even if the metadata is erased, we still know how many credits were used, if you have a valid API key, etc. That’s not metadata.

Like I said, we will be happy to take a look at your site if you send us a temporary admin access to your site. Please do so via our contact page and be sure to mention this ticket.

    Have a good day,
