  • I canceled my purchase for CowerNews theme the same day it was ordered on July 7th and have been trying to get my money back since. I did so in the opinion that AFthemes would be credible with free risk. The response time is extremely poor and nothing new is happening in the case since. Therefore, I can only judge the rate to the bottom of the poor service and the like I have experienced before.

    Hi Hans,
First off, sorry for the inconvenience, if you could come up with the details about the problem, you will definitely get your money back even after 30 days of purchase.
Also, as this is a free product and the place is not intended for refund request, our sales and support will try to solve your issues and if you are not satisfied then we will refund issue.
    Best regards

I can only confirm to all who regret their purchase that feee risk is fake marketing. Stay away from AFthemes unless you are 100% sure of your choice. I have never been treated worse than here and do not get the money back as I have been promised several times. It’s a screw with no end. I give up and stand at the lowest rate ever.

    Hello @hansvjensen,
As per the given information in mail, you have accidentally purchase/downloaded the theme by mistake. It has come to our understanding that you have been unsatisfied with your recent purchase but we don’t offer refund in “You bought an item by mistake”, “The item did not meet your expectations” and “You don’t want it after you’ve downloaded it” situations, because the theme facilitates every options those are described on the theme features table. Due to the nature of digital goods we’re selling from our official site, we could not take your request any further.

As I have said many times, it is due to a mistake, as I had looked at another of your themes. I thought it didn’t matter, as AF themes looked pretty good advertising with free risk. But no. It is deeply questionable. I just want to make that clear here. Be 100% sure. Otherwise, AF themes are terrible!

@afthemes , As an impartial opinion on this matter, I can see how the reviewer felt that they could receive a refund from the following wording:

RISK FREE with our 30 days money back guarantee!*

If You are not satisfied with Our service within 30 days of purchase, all refund request* will be honoured. The full amount of Your original purchase will be refunded.

The reviewer’s feedback here is quite valuable, as rewording this verbiage and verbiage like this to be more transparent can avoid this situation happening in future.

Now I’m confused. Will it be paid back or not? If not, the future does not matter. Then it’s all over from my side with AF Themes.

    OK, I’m closing this review.

There are no customers here, just opensource users of code. There are no companies here, just people who have contributed their opensource code and time. Commercial, pro, refund conversations have no place in these forums.

The one exception is reviews. When a plugin or theme upsells either here or in the user’s dashboard then that feedback is permitted. But not the conversation and that’s why I will close this review from further comments once the author replies.

@afthemes The review will stay because it is a valid feedback from one of your customers, inadvertent or not.

This review is feedback but it is becoming a topic about a refund from your customer (accidental or not). It’s also a fair warning because this statement from your web site:

Really means that unless the theme author is somehow satisfied, they do not offer refunds.

That you upsell here makes this a fair point.

Edit: I forgot to add this part.

If anyone needs to contact the moderators about this then you can do so via the Slack #forums channel.

@hansvjensen I’m not talking about the future of you, I’m talking about the future of other users. The point of the review system is to help the community and the author can make that happen by changing the confusing verbiage.
