I don’t know where to go for help…this site: [de-linked]

farmed one of my reviews from Amazon, which isn’t uncommon…the problem is, they continue to use my real name (including my middle inital) for things that I did not write…hence, false impersonation, false advertising etc. I am a professional reviewer for a couple of other sites, so I am considering legal action for using my name & likeness without my knowledge or consent.

I have contacted the person who used my name, as well as the owner of the site, and they still refuse to take it down & stop using my name.

Since it is “powered by WordPress” is there anything you guys can do?

WordPress is simply software that can be downloaded and used by anyone. WordPress has no control over the content a user of the software chooses to place on their own site.

It may be best to play things close to the vest, and simply consult with legal counsel privately for accurate advice on how to best pursue the matter.

I’ve removed the link, not sure why you would want to publicise the site further by linking to it..

I’m sorry, I thought since the website was operating fraudulently & it was powered by WordPress, someone at WordPress would have the illegal content removed. Thank you ClaytonJames for clearing that up!

I have someone impersonating me, A case over it is due to go to court, is there anyway of a site being removed?

wordpress.org distributes and documents the WordPress application but has no connection with any site running that software. You need to contact the site owner and that’s not something we can help you with.
