 * Hi,
 * Just done the upgrade of your wp plug in, and the Yoest SEO plug in.
 * WordPress version4.2.2
 * The new Seo pluginis link to Google tools etc, and its highlighting lot of dates
   that have no events as pages that have been moved.
    The dates have never had
   an event, so why is Google picking them up as missing URL (would you like to
   add a redirect). As you can imaging add a hundred redirects is not high on my
   list of things to do..
 * What can I do stop Google etc thinking empty/non existent dates are missing pages?
 * Email sent with the Tech stuff

 * Hi Verbier,
 * We very recently made a change in this area. Instead of, as previously, issuing
   a “404 Not Found” status (which I think is what you are referring to?) for event
   views that don’t contain any events, we now return a “200 OK” status.
 * > What can I do stop Google etc thinking empty/non existent dates are missing
   > pages?
 * Adding a “noindex” tag would make sense here and we’re also investigating doing
   that, automatically, too. Thus in addition to preventing “real” 404s that should
   also deal with so-called “soft” 404s.
 * > What can I do stop Google etc thinking empty/non existent dates are missing
   > pages?
 * Remember first of all that to a large extent it is providing potentially helpful
   troubleshooting information – so you don’t **have** to do anything, though of
   course I do understand the impetus for wanting to tidy this up.

 * Yes its created 404’s for events that don’t exists.
    So if I understand it now
   creating “200”, how do I clean up ~240 “404” page not found.

 * Howdy Verbier Kev,
 * If your server is now generating the appropriate HTTP Status then all you can
   do is wait for Google to reindex those pages. You can of course request they
   reindex, which sometimes speeds things up.
 * If the status are not correct yet you are on the latest version, can you share
   a link to a problem page?
 * hello zpaiss, we definitely would like to help. Would you mind opening up your
   own topic and thoroughly detail your problem? Per the forum rules on wordpress.
   org you should start your own topic, unless “you are using the same version of
   WordPress on the same physical server hosted by the same hosts with the same
   plugins, theme, and configurations as the original poster”. Having your own topic
   helps ensure that each person gets the topics full attention and no one’s unique
   details get accidentally ignored.
 * Cheers!

 * Hi Verbier Kev,
 * I can see that the first URL is in fact returning a 200 Ok status, so you will
   have just to wait for them to be re-indexed or request that.
 * Regarding the other link you shared, this is the correct link for it: [http://www.kartingextremeverbier.com/events/category/verbier-things-to-do/2015-08-21/](http://www.kartingextremeverbier.com/events/category/verbier-things-to-do/2015-08-21/)–
   with ‘categorie’ just return a 404 as the URL is incorrect, not calendar related
   I would say.
 * Best,
    Nico

 * Re the second link it all part of events, and yes its still there [http://www.kartingextremeverbier.com/events/categorie/verbier-things-to-do/2015-08-21/](http://www.kartingextremeverbier.com/events/categorie/verbier-things-to-do/2015-08-21/)
 * as is /events/categorie/verbier-things-to-do/2015-08-26/
 * /events/categorie/verbier-things-to-do/2015-09-06/
 * And lots more
 * So help me how do I get them all re-index so they disappear, and will google
   tools update it self once it has re-indexed?

 * Thinking about it where has “categorie” come from rather than “category”

 * any up date on getting rid of these things, or an idea where or how
    “category”
   came from. And no I’m not technical enough to play around in the plugin files
   😉

 * Hey Verbier,
 * Sorry for the continued trouble here. Are you using a multilingual plugin by
   chance? If so, does it automatically translate page and post slugs–or, does it
   happen to create different versions of each page and post for each language?
   I’m wondering if there is the possibility that a another plugin is generating
   those faulty URLs which then get indexed.
 * Cheers!

 * [10 years, 11 months ago](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/false-events/#post-6356211)
 * Yes its using a multilingual plugin
 * So in English the URL is [http://www.kartingextremeverbier.com/event/foire-du-valais/](http://www.kartingextremeverbier.com/event/foire-du-valais/)
   and French it creates this – [http://www.kartingextremeverbier.com/fr/event/foire-du-valais/](http://www.kartingextremeverbier.com/fr/event/foire-du-valais/)
   Just adds “FR”.
 * These false links only appeared after I installed the plugin (nothing else has
   really change on the site for a long time.)
 * Any clue of getting rid of them?

 * Is the same true of the category URLs as well–does the multilingual plugin translate“
   category” to “categorie”? The Events Calendar wouldn’t create that translation
   on its own, so I’m trying to figure out where it came from.
 * Thanks!

 * So this event is in English and French.
 * [http://www.kartingextremeverbier.com/event/kermesse-de-verbier/](http://www.kartingextremeverbier.com/event/kermesse-de-verbier/)

   Event Category:Verbier things to do
 * [http://www.kartingextremeverbier.com/fr/event/kermesse-de-verbier/](http://www.kartingextremeverbier.com/fr/event/kermesse-de-verbier/)

   Événément **Catégorie**:Verbier things to do.
 * My site is in French and English but there is no automated translation of pages.
   I use Qtranslate as the plugin which just creates a FR blank page for me to add
   the FR text

 * (@geoffgraham)
 * [10 years, 11 months ago](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/false-events/#post-6356214)
 * Did you create the “categorie” URL:
    [http://www.kartingextremeverbier.com/events/categorie/verbier-things-to-do/2015-08-21/](http://www.kartingextremeverbier.com/events/categorie/verbier-things-to-do/2015-08-21/)
 * As Nico pointed out, the calendar would not create that on it’s own.
 * If it exists in the system, then I imagine it’s possible you may have had a rule
   that translated category to categorie at some point in time, then reverted it
   back?
 * Either way, if the page no longer exists from the calendar’s point of view, then
   it should no longer exist on the site as a whole, assuming the calendar did create
   URL. In that case, it will take Google time (which is an uncertain amount) to
   clear those pages from its index.
 * Geoff
