• I loved Jetpack. The convenience of having all those features in one plug-in was fantastic. I also loved checking the stats everyday. Unlike Google Analytics, it was so easy to tell who was linking to my site each new day.

But yesterday, even my tiny blog received too many visitors (probably ~20 at one time) and the server response time shot up. I had an average load time of about 35 seconds, if the page loaded at all. It was a disaster.

A quick analysis by W3 Total Cache pointed out the offending plug-in: Jetpack.

    Yeah.

Now that I’ve uninstalled, I’ll have to find other, more stable plug-ins for site stats, subscriptions, sharing, and who knows what else.

  • We are working with the jetpack folks to address interoperability issues. I’m sorry for the trouble, but please do not rate plugins so low before the authors have had a chance to address issues.

Not sure which “interoperability issue” you’re referring to.
Perhaps it’s that Jetpack isn’t interoperable with WordPress?

I don’t mind changing my review if the problems have been fixed. But it’s been three weeks and I haven’t heard anything from the developers. What exactly is the correct forum for asking the authors to address these issues?

In the meantime, I stand by my review.

@bike Pretty – if you need help with JetPack issues, you need to post on the JetPack support forum here:

Reviews is not the correct forum for support issues.

Look, my issue isn’t that I need help to get the plugin to work.
    It worked fine.

Until it increased the server load time and then no one could access my site.
    Which was totally unacceptable.

When I uninstalled the plugin, the problem went away and my page load times went back to normal.

That’s why I gave this plugin a bad review.

And by the way, how do you expect users to leave honest reviews if moderators (self-appointed and otherwise) call out critiques as being off-topic?

I was not saying anything about your review – you’re certainly entitled to post whatever review you like. My answer was in reply to your line:

    Here’s some context.
    The question

What exactly is the correct forum for asking the authors to address these issues?

was for @frederick Townes, who seemed to have an issue with my negative review.

Could you start a new thread in the Jetpack support forums, here:

If you let me know your site URL, I’d be happy to have a look at your site and see if there is something we can do to address the performance issues you experienced.

If you want your site URL to remain private, you can also contact us via this contact form:
