    Hi,
falcon engine seems to be working well, BUT… I have one wish:

Since the cache is purged every time we post something, make changes to a page, change settings for plugins++, and the cache is regenerated for each page/post whenever a visitor visits that page/post, that means the first visitor after a purge will see extremely slow performance. And not just on the first page/post they visit, but every single one, as long as they are the first visitor after a purge.

For sites with relatively few visitors that can be a real problem.

For a site with fairly few pages/posts, this can be solved by visiting every page manually, but even for smaller sites it is an extra and annoying step (especially since you have to be logged out for the visits to trigger the cache generation), and for sites with a lot of pages/posts it may be nearly impossible.

So… How about an option to “automatic regenerate full cache after purge”?

“and the cache is regenerated for each page/post whenever a visitor visits that page/post”

That’s incorrect. That would kill performance. What makes you think we’re doing that?

Sorry, poor choice of words, you misunderstood me. What I meant is – whenever a post or page is changed/published, and some other events, the cache is emptied (for all pages/posts), correct?

And then – whenever the first person after the cache is empied visits a page/post, the cache for that page is regenerated, right? At least that is what happens when I activate FE.

For a site with few new posts and/or many visitors, this will probably work fine, since it is less likely that the same visitor will be the first (after the cache purge) to visit that many of the pages/posts.

However – for a site with less visitors, the chance increases quickly that the same visitor will be the one that triggers the regeneration of the cache for all/many of the pages/posts he/she visits. If he/she is the first visitor, that will even mean that every page loads really slow since he triggers the cache regeneration on every page (since he is the first visitor)…

So – for sites with less visitors but still some posting/editing-activity, a choice to “regnererate full cache after purge” would probably be very useful.

Got it. Thanks for the clear explanation. I understand the need for this now. I’ve added your request and we’ll include this in a future version.
