Support » Plugin: GiveWP - Donation Plugin and Fundraising Platform » Failure to load success page

  • Resolved sjakko

I have created a page on our site for donations using the GiveWP plugin. The plugin seems to be working both in test mode and live mode (we’ve done a stripe credit card donation and it came through). The email notifications are also sent through (both the admin message and the donor receipt).

My problem is: The plugin is unable to load the success page and it ends up on a HTTP ERROR 503 – ‘ is currently unable to handle this request.’

I have cleared caches, tried it with the custom CSS, tried to redirect to a different page, deleted the plugin and reinstalled, but the problem persists.

Would appreciate some input on how to fix this.

    Many thanks in advance.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi there,

We have noticed this error message on sites where the plugin W3 Total Cache is also installed.

Please disable this plugin and try this again.

    Thank you!

We’re experiencing the same issue with W3 Total Cache, but need to use this plugin.

    Hello @parrotcreative @alliennimmons @sjakko

Marko W3 Total Cache support here.
This kind of issue has already been reported to us. While there is a tradition in the WordPress world to use wp_die for error output only some plugins still use it for regular successful output.
W3 Total Cache now sets a response header to 503 what may cause complications.
We’ve added a hotfix in W3 Total Cache Public repository which you can find here.
This is a temporary solution and this will be fixed in future W3 Total Cache release.
    I hope this helps!

    @vmarko – that’s perfect! Thank you.

    Hello @parrotcreative

Can you please confirm that this is working for you? Also please reply to the topic you created for this issue in the W3 Total Cache support forum.

@vmarko – Yes, this has resolved the issue for me 🙂

The fact that this plugin is not compatible with W3 Total Cache makes it pretty much obsolete. No way that GiveWP gets precedence of W3 Total Cache.

@sjakko — you misunderstand. W3TC had a bug that rendered our donation confirmation pages broken. W3TC fixed the issue. Caching can do a lot of things to plugins that depend on user sessions, and good caching plugins provide settings to overcome those issues — W3TC has such settings. We have hundreds of users using GiveWP and W3TC successfully.

So this isn’t an issue of precendence or either/or. They work just fine together. Thanks for your patience.
