Relatively new to using wordpress. I haven’t published any posts yet (although I have written some marked private).

Before I make my posts public I want to set-up an RSS feed.

    I’ve installed and activated FeedSmith.
I clicked the link in the plugin options menu that connects me to feedburner. Supposedly it can detect your feed.

It tells me that it has detected 3 available feeds and asks me to choose which I would like to use.

Regardless of which I choose, feedburner gives me a 404 error.

The feed I am trying to use is http://mydomainname.com/hcsblog/feed.

Not sure what I can do. I’m simply following the steps.

Any help on this one would be greatly appreciated.

No I haven’t. Is that similar to the permalink editing options in the “all in one SEO pack”?

I did, however, enter the feed into Feed Validator and it is telling me 2 things:

    1. Server returned HTTP Error 404: Not Found

    2. pubDate must be an RFC-822 date-time:

Could this be a direct result of me keeping my posts private? I would imagine that the “pubDate” would fill itself in when I actually publish the first post. However this doesn’t solve my “Not found” error.

It worked after I published a post.
