Hi I don’t know what I need to do exactly to solve this error message I gewt when I clic Build Redirect File ?

FAILURE! Redirect file is NOT writeable!
This needs to be corrected before redirect file may be generated! Often this is caused by an incorrect permission setting on the web server. Please check your configuration.

    Thank you!

    Hello.

You have two options. I am not sure what name you may be using for the redirect file but the default is redirectit.php and that’s what I will use in this post.

    1) Change the main folder/directory redirectit.php will be placed to chmod 777 (or check write for all if you use that method). Try generating the file. Once the file has been generated I would make the file itself chmod 777 or 666 and change the directory back to 755.

    2) Open a blank text file on your local computer and save it as redirectit.php and upload it to the necessary directory. Chmod redirectit.php to 777 or 666. Now try building the file.

Either method should work. However, as stated, don’t leave your overall directory set as 777 as that isn’t a good idea.

Did you get it working for you?

I think there was an issue with my server, HostMonster solved it and now : “Success! Redirect file has been created!” and it works beautifully and fast, thank you for the support.

it is possible to add a target=”_blank” to the redirect links ?

Well that’s great news! I am glad it is now working for you.

As for target=”_blank” you can add it to your links on your site(s) that call the redirect script. So if the link was yoursite.tld/redirectit.php?q=awesome_site when placing that link on your site simply add the target to it. It is pretty straight forward.

If you like the plugin I would appreciate a review. 🙂 Thanks!

because it is with woocommerce, at the place I put the link I can’t add a target, it is not recognized. but anyway this is beyond the purpose of this plugin, I was just curious if it could help in that as well 🙂

Ah. I have never used Woocommerce. That’s unfortunate. This plugin isn’t using any javascript code to open another window. Sorry. It just relies on the standard browser defined snippet in the link.
