Support » Plugin: Print-O-Matic » Fails to Print Headline & Web Logo + Weird Huge Graphic Icons

  • Resolved randygener

Might you have a “How to Install for Dummies” or a numbered “Checklist of How to Use the Plugin’s Settings?

I am not a CSS expert and I am a newbie to your plugin. But I installed your plugin and tested how it print using this post (

Inside this post, I use this shortcode ——> [print-me]
In the Settings, I am using the default print icon.
The Default Target Attribute is “article.”

What the printed output? This is what it looks like:

As you can see, these are the problems:
    (1) The title of the post is nowhere to be found.
    (2) Huge black icons appear on several pages both before and after the body of the post. I do not know how to make them disappear.
    (3) The website’s name and logo are missing too.
    (4) The post’s featured image (of the singer) is sitting alone on the first page and not linked to any of the content.

What can I do to at the very least print properly?

In addition, might you have a step-by-step instruction somewhere? It seems the Plugin Settings require specific shortcodes in order to add some customization of what and how to print. Do you have a checklist?

It also seems that I would need a separate How-To-Do List in order to place the correct shortcodes inside the post itself. If given more detailed examples, I would be happy to copy and paste.

My ultimate goal here is to provide a reader with well-designed print output that carries the branding, the headlines, the body and the design.

    Please help.

You are using the default target of ‘article’ as set in the plugin settings.
Try using the shortcode with the target attribute that targets the items to print.

This is all quite clearly explained in the documentation:

For example, on the page you linked to at the top (as can not be reached) you seem to want to print out the following elements:

    Shortcode for that would be:

    [print-me target=".site-branding, .page-header, #content" /]

If the print page does not look formatted correctly, you will need to either include the theme’s css on the print page (an option in the plugin settings) or manually add the css as needed. If you need help with CSS, you might reach out to your theme developer. We also offer more personal support that would cover setting this up as part of print-pro-matic if this would be helpful.
