  • make it easy to find the product and buy it. woocommerce is actually pretty cool and intend to use it but it will only allow 3 product categories on the home page. If you have more than 3 caategories the customer will not know they are there of course. Finding those extra categories will just be by accident or because they wanted to stroll thru the header. BUT in your face image boxes showing the 3 categories are powerful motivators. Too bad you cant show 6 or eight of that instead of featured products, sale products etc.

Not really sure what you mean here – there are lots of things you can add to navigate through the products:

    – Layered nav widgets
    – Category widgets
    – Categories in your ‘menus’
    – Showing category thumbnails in the shop view itself

etc etc. How you set this up if down to you.

hi there, glad to know these are actually read!

Using woocommerce + storefront, there are only 3 product categories on the home page. I want to have more than 3 product categories show up on the home page. I cannot find a way to do this.

you can see on my html site test page what I want: there are 6 product icons/images that are clickable links which will take you to the next level that features individual products.
    test page –>

so far on storefront home page I can only have 3 such clickable links and I want to have more, like 6 or eight.

The reason is that even though I have 6 categories the customers can only see 3 of them on the home page. They do not know there are 3 more product categories so they will not look for them.

I want to make it easy – 6 categories on the home page.

    hope this explanation is better.

Storefront is a theme, whereas you’re reviewing WooCommerce here… Anyhow, quick search revealed so its possible.

well I found a good piece of descriptive code at one of your links.

I have looked all over WP to find the actual full page code for storefront – > storefront child theme but cannot find it anywhere. the only full page code I could find was clearly the main storefront because it said “do not edit this page, make all edits on the storefront child theme”

do you know where I can find the child theme code then?
