Failing to import Star demo

    Hi there!

    I’ve been trying to import the demo content from the Star pre-made theme but I haven’t been able to, instead I get this message:
    “Importer returned data in wrong format. Probably unexpected HTML leaked into server reply instead of JSON format.”

    I tried to import the Raven template and it worked perfectly, so I’m guessing it’s not a problem with my php settings and maybe there was some data misplacement with the Star demo, as it apparently happened here: https://support.apollo13.eu/discussion/5314/importer-returned-data-in-wrong-format-probably-unexpected-html-leaked-into-server-json-format

    I hope you can help me with this. Again, the Raven demo could be imported with no problems but the Star demo seems to be missing the contents to download.

    Hey there:-)

    I have just checked and Star Design is importing fine. Such error usually is caused by some plugin.

    I would try first by disabling all the plugins, activate only “Apollo13 Framework Extensions” plugin, and then running import again.

    Hmmm, just tried it with all plugins disabled except Apollo13 Framework Extensions and the same happened.

    Again Raved did work, but Star just won’t import. I notice there’s a difference on the progress status bar when importing Raven. It displays “Downloading Files – Data.xml” and other files, whereas while trying to import the Star design it never shows it’s downloading any files.

    This also happens on the “Importing the contents” part of the process. In the Raven design it shows the progress by displaying “Importing 10 of 90 contents” but in Star it just says “Importing the contents” and shows no data, nothing is being imported.

    Think that could be because of my php settings?

    I’m using these ones…
    WP Memory Limit: 256 MB
    PHP Version: 7.3.2
    PHP Time Limit: 90
    PHP Post Max Size: 64 MB
    Max Upload Size: 64 MB

    Hey 🙂

    After such a detailed description, I believe I have an idea of what could be wrong.

    Please go to wp-content/uploads/apollo13_tmp and delete everything there. I believe data might get corrupted after downloading, and because import failed it wasn’t deleted after the job.

    Try again after it – should be better.

    Hey, there! Thanks for the answer, I decided to start customizing the Raven Design and so far I’m achieving great results. This is also thanks to the other templates integrated within Apollo13. Since I’m a little bit in a point of no return in terms of programming, I will finish the site with the current Raven Design, but I will be designing another web soon with your theme, and if the same problem happens whilst importing any design I will try this way, I’m confident it will work.
