Failed to write file to disk error…. mid update?

    so…

    was adding new posts to website… going along nicely… then, in the midst of doing that (these are custom post types for bios for a festival) wordpress just decided to stop uploading images..

    now i get the “Failed to write file to disk” error… even tho i have already added 6 bios with photos this morning and nothing has changed… there have been no updates, no changes, no nothing, except these new CPTs

    any suggestions?
    surely it can’t be a plugin issue if it was working fine 10 minutes ago and none have been changed in the meantime… ?

    Please check the error logs on your server for any clue why it’s failing. If you need help locating them, ask your hosting provider to help you with that.

    neither my ip nor my domain name appear in the error logs for the last 8 months… if i’m looking at the right error log…

    any other ideas?

    there are only two ways I can see you getting that error.

    One is from your browser; it was having problems doing something with its cache. The other is a hardware problem on the server, which should be reported to the tech support for your hosting.

    it would seem it was some kind of temporary error on the server…. even tho there is still nothing in the logs that i can see (doesn’t mean it’s not there).

    i went away for a few hours… came back and tried again, and it worked just as it should.

    weird.
