('Failed to open stream') Supplied argument is not a valid stream resource

I added plugin to my site and set up youtube feed. It looked fine, but when I checked few days later I have noticed strange things happening as can be seen in this screenshot:

After page reload it sometimes went back to normal and displayed youtube links just fine, but then you refresh page few times – ‘Supplied argument is not a valid stream resource’ error message comes up again.
It all looked really ugly, so I had no choice but to remove plugin completely. Any ideas what was wrong?
