  • Hi,

    Yesterday I upload a .csv file and did all the import with no problem. Haven’t done any changes to anything afterwards. But today, when I import a .csv file, I get this error message “Failed to open output stream.” and nothing happen to continue to step 2 of the import.

    Please advise. Many many thanks.

    Hi @wpallimport Please do not make that sort of request in these forums again. It’s not safe and it goes too far. Unless you want to take on the full liability of that user’s entire server and installation and even then don’t make that request again.

    I know you are trying to help your user and I do appreciate that. Ask for data, make suggestions, etc. That is allowed. But please refrain from requests like this again.

    what usually cause this kind of error? i’d like to know the cause and then of course how to solve it. thanks.

    OK, we won’t request login details in these forums again. Sorry about that.

    Should we post something like “WordPress doesn’t allow us to handle a request like this in their public forums, but you are welcome to contact us via e-mail/through our website for in-depth assistance?”

    We’d much prefer to not just ignore those requests: logging into our users’ websites and debugging compatibility issues is something we specifically advertise is part of our technical support.

    I have the same probleme suddenly. Any solutions for this issue meanwhile. Everything worked fine till now.

    Hi missi1976,

    This error is usually encountered when WP All Import runs up against one of your server’s restrictions, which are configured by your web host. In order to diagnose and solve the problem, you’ll need to contact your web host and have them check your server’s error log for an entry added around the time you ran in to the error.

    Once they see the error log entry they’ll know what’s wrong and be able to fix it.

    I guess you are right and something crashed. I’ve also got the issue that a upload is not possible. meanwhile I tried a lot and I set the rights of the specific wp “upload” folder complete NEW. I don’t know why but both issus are fixed…
