I have just found that the same problem happen on every AMP website!
I can’t even access https://cdn.ampproject.org/v0.js directly from the browser Error: This site can’t be reached cdn.ampproject.org took too long to respond.
Same situation on different ISPs, Devices, and browsers.
@ashraf88 Thanks for following up here. We’ll do some investigation and get back to you as soon as we have more details. Thank you for your patience!
@ashraf88 Thanks for providing the additional details. Can you confirm you’re remain based in Egypt at present? Unfortunately AMP scripts and resources are restricted in some regions for reasons beyond our control.
Hey @jamesosborne Thanks for following up.
Yes, I still in Egypt. and I have 3 questions please.
1- Can I host the AMP scripts and resources on my website server and update it regularly without removing my website from google AMP cache?
2- How can I find the complete list of the regions restricting the AMP resources?
3- Do you recommend any good or temporary solutions?
Thanks for the update. Unfortunately in that case if you’re based in Egypt it’s expected that AMP scripts won’t work as expected. To answer your questions see below:
1- Can I host the AMP scripts and resources on my website server and update it regularly without removing my website from google AMP cache?
Good question. While your AMP URLs may work I suspect they may not be valid AMP URLs, I haven’t tested this myself and I wouldn’t recommend it.
2- How can I find the complete list of the regions restricting the AMP resources?
There is no list I’m aware of, with Egypt the only country whereby I’ve encountered users facing this issue.
3- Do you recommend any good or temporary solutions?`
Unfortunately I don’t have any solutions for regional restrictions. As this would only impact you while based in Egypt if you’re looking to test or edit your site there may be software or browser extensions that can be used.
Good question. While your AMP URLs may work I suspect they may not be valid AMP URLs, I haven’t tested this myself and I wouldn’t recommend it.
Adding the ability to self-host AMP scripts is something we intend to do, but it is not yet available. See https://github.com/ampproject/amp-wp/issues/5581
